you can get fabulous materials, that you can either drape off the end of the window rails, or drape them above a bed, or around the tops of the wardrobes, either tack them on, or glue them on, there are a lot of things like lampshades, mirrors, dont forget accessories like cushions !!

If you don't want to spend too much and have the time go to garden and garage sales then try it. You will be surprised of the many pretty and fine decoration items you can get for almost nothing.
