  • You mean "stereotypically" male and female activities, right? Guys do love to watch me use power tools. But I like to watch a man cook, too. I got to admit, though, that I'm not really into straight-guys going to the nail salon for a pedicure.
  • Like it or not, our society is still very patriarchal. Thus, when a woman engages in stereotypically masculine behavior, she is augmenting her social status. Conversely, when a man engages in stereotypically feminine behavior, he is diminishing his. In other words, the woman that can do masculine things is perceived as superior to the woman that can’t, but the man that can do feminine things is perceived as inferior to the man that can’t. HTH!
  • I think it's the old stereotype where men are supposed to be macho. I guess society hasn't let go of that stereotype yet.
