  • No, but there might be a Michigan law prohibiting two children of the same sex sleeping in the same bedroom.
  • There is not a law, in the sense of a specific statute, addressing that. However, two things: 1. Apartments may require you to rent a three bedroom apartment if you have opposite-sex kids. As far as I know, that's their policy, not a "law". 2. Child protective services often operate by their own rules. Crazy as it is, it is possible that they may require you to split up male and female siblings if they became apprised of a situation in which opposite-sex kids shared a room. I doubt this is their official policy, but if you get a case with CPS and the worker has a wild hair up their you-know-what, they may make an issue out of it. But you can rest assured, you cannot be charged with any criminal offense for letting opposite-sex kids share a room.
