  • Actually, it only freed some slaves in one small area on the south. History teachers just don't want you to know that hehe.
  • because the Prez has no authority to free slaves. (show me which clause in the Constitution?) It was a martial-law measure, so it could only apply in a war zone. After the war, there had to be a Constitutional Amendment to do it on a peacetime basis.
