From my experience, emos (emo's) usually have clean hair which stylistically masks a portion of their face. I doubt it is usually clumpy. Also, while some might cut, it is not something to joke about or dirt that should be tossed. I am not a emo advocate or sponsor, but this stereotype is hyperbolic and tangential, assuming both of those words are, in fact, actual words. LOL. A lot of emos are good musicians, and I thank them for their positive contribution to society.

From my experience they are fixated on the most dismal aspects of life and overlook the better things. They complain about how everything sucks and is unfair, but do nothing to change it. They also wear dark and depressing clothing that sticks out from the rest of the crowd and then complain about being looked at differently. . From what I can judge (which to be honest may inadvertently be wrong due to the fact that I do not know everything about them), they are a very unproductive group of people who want the world to change for them, without any intervention on their own part. . If I am wrong, then please feel free to correct me :)

The emo people in my community aren't the standard emos. Basically you wear eithier dark or very colorful childish looking clothing, listen to obscure music, and do drugs. That is the sterotype in my area.
