  • First of all, that a mirror "reverses and image from left to right" is only a matter of perception. "Left" and "right" are relative.....before you can identify them, you must first identify what is "forward", and what is "up". Your left will still be your left, and your right will still be your right....but if you were looking at yourself FROM the mirror, your "forward" would be reverse, and therefore your "left" and "right" would be also. The light first bounces off of your clothes and into the mirror, where it is reflected into your eyes. Light, without using a series of prisms, cannot bounce off the back of you, twist itself around your body, and then into the mirror.
