Do any of you think customer service works two ways?

I asked this question becuase some customers want excellent service with very bad attitudes, i know i cannot change a customer attitude. i believe customer service works in both hands.

    Yes. At least in retail, it does. When a customer walks in and acts rude, mean, or hostile towards me or another employee, they are making it harder for us to give them good service. Granted we still smile and are polite, but the temptation to 'get back' at the rude customer is increased.

    I've had some pretty rude customers at some jobs, just smile and be polite.. that'll infuriate them far more than you getting stressed, which would give them a kind of satisfaction.
