Ladies, if you have a man, does he write you poetry, and does it matter if he doesn't?

I know this is addressed to ladies, but I'd like to say that I've written my wife a poem every single day now since about March 2005 - that's over 1,200 now!

He's never written me a poem and it doesn't matter. He leaves me notes almost every day.

No he does not, but he fixes dinner at least 4 times a week and he takes care of me if I hurt or I am sick. He treats me with respect and love. That is worth as much as a poem any day.

No he's never written me poetry - I'm not into that at all. I like him for what he does for me as it is. If he wrote poetry I would think he was a little light in the loafers.

my wonderful Boyfriend writes me beautiful poetry and sings to me regularly...he knows it makes me feel good. However, even if he didn't do those things, i'd still love him (there are other ways he is sweet and kind to me too)

My husband isn't a writer, but he is a gifted artist and has drawn me things---which I appreciated equally as much as I would have a poem.

Whether its poetry or a beautiful letter, yes I would love that, its very romantic..women love to keep them in there possessions..Even cards, there are so many cards out there that are beautiful..I also like poetry books..these things are romantic, women appreciate them..

My husband doesn't write me poetry and that's fine by me. His interests are more for reading. He's not a writer so it's no problem.

Maestrodamus has inspired me well to rhyme on a subject for ladies, to dwell on the things that her man may or may not do like, after he's been, does he flush the loo? Do his eyes light up when you come home, Does he stay by your side or frequently roam, Does he hold you close because he understands you and does he also do it when he needs it to? When he is aggravated does he fume or does he roar and when he's asleep, do you wish he didn't snore? Out with friends, does he gush all work and bore, does he include you, or does he ignore? Does he listen and act as you would want him to, and has he the strength to know when something is true So not to love songs, and flowers or even poetry, it's more about the little things, if you were to ask me.

The only rhymes I can read are on things to do or shopping lists, I wouldn't call them poetry :-) It doesn't matter at all.

No he doesnt write poetry to me. For our first valentines day together he wrote me a rap!! haha. Back in the day he used to think himself a pretty good rapper. It was actually really good. No he didnt actually rap it to me!!!

Apparently I have a few songs waiting for me.He's a horrible singer, I hate to say that, but I love it when he sings to me. Once someone composed some piano music for me, but never gave me the cd, he only let me listen to it once. He was a wierd guy. Hehe.

It really only matters if you want a man who is a poet; If you are dating a guy that didn't sit around and pen sonnets before you were together he's not going to be suddenly struck by verse because he has a girlfriend.

Back when I had one, yeah, he did. While it seems romantic in theory it can easily get annoying. Especially if its overly romantic (or maybe its just me, I almost treat romance like a teenage boy and the guy that wrote the poertry treated romance like a teenage girl). I havent known alot of girls to want their man to write poetry, but if they did they were very into the whole idea of romance and victorian stuff and disney's stories of mermaids falling in love with humans.

No, he's not really the poetry writing type and it does not matter to me that he isn't. He did make me a lovely pen and ink card once :) And he does other things that are equally as romantic. I'm not much for poetry anyway.

me and my fiance have been in a relationship for 2 years and i've know him for 6 yrs. he started writing me poetry 6 years ago and he still does, i didn't think about him ever stopping its our thing. and if he ever did stop i think i would miss it alot.
