No. Not because there is anything wong with it...it was commonplace in years gone by, as you know. But because feeding an infant is more than sustenance and nutrition...it is crucial bonding time. I think it is essential, especially in the first few months, for a mother and baby to be very intimate and close, making lots of eye contact in order to start that infant's life on an emotionally healthy dimension.

The only person I could imagine letting nurse my baby is my best friend, I wouldn't have a problem with that, I think I would prefer her to pump and then I would feed the baby (I nursed both of my boys, I wouldn't want to miss out on the bonding that occurs during feedings, I feel it's important for the child to feel that security too)

No way I'd rather put them to bottle feed than let someone else get that close to my baby

Yes. I would be sad I couldn't nurse them myself but would rather they had the chance to get the benefits of breastfeeding for a bit longer than what I could give them.
-
Yes. It is the most loving and self-less thing you could do for your child during infancy.
-
No- I would never have someone else nurse my baby. Feeding an infant is a total bonding experience which should be between a mother and a child. That is only my opinion- I know others may feel completely in favor of it. It's just not for me.

yes i would, breastmilk is best.and your baby would get antibodies from not only you but also the other ladies milk.

NO! NO! NO! THAT IS YOUR BOND TIME DON'T SHARE IT WITH ANYONE ELSE, I DON'T CARE IF IT IS YOUR SISTER, DON'T DO IT. FEED THEM A BOTLLE AND KEEP YOUR BOND GOING. YOUR FRIENDS COME AND GO. EVEN BEST FRIENDS.

I would have to be DEAD or dying before I fed my babies formula, but I would much rather have another mom pump for me than actualy nurse full time. It's the bonding that a mother needs to be a part of and if somebody other than the mother is doing all the feeding, Mom and baby will not have the same relationship.
