  • LOL... Nah... Soon as I see "First thing" I tend to skip it. ;-)
  • That and your eyes may start to bleed. I think it's very possible.
  • yes and know... if it takes you a really long time to answer then you have lost something!
  • yeah you can lose your mind wont be able to find it again thats why i close my eyes when i see one of those questions :P lol
  • I don't think so..I think our minds go into "protective lockdown" mode so that we are not seriously harmed! :) ((hugs))
  • What! WHO AM I? WAIT!! WHO ARE YOU!!!???? AHHHHHHHHHHHH-ha-ha-ha-haha!
  • I am getting a little tired of them. I almost posted a similar question this morning.
  • When they're all from the same user, on the same theme, yes. It's extremely poor AB etiquette for one person to monopolize the category.
  • Cheer up its only a small hang over from the stress that complicates your mind.Take a break, hug someone and relax for a while then list out your task based on priorities and handle one by one. If this failed well get yourself a new job before you loose your mind
  • Oh, is that what's happening to me? Because I thought I was just going crazy for no reason at all :-)
  • I usually just ignore them, so not much chance of losing my mind over it. However, I do find them lame, totally uninspired, and a real cop-out way of submitting technically unique questions with virtually no thought behind them. You could go through an entire dictionary and post: "What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say 'aardvark'?" "What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say 'acrobat'?" "What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say 'apple'?" And so forth... doesn't mean the questions are any good, and in my opinion, utterly contradicts the purpose of the site.
  • YES! The 1st thing that comes to my mind is DAMN! I can't think that fast under so much pressure!!! LOL.
  • They have made me lose my freaking mind, I quit thinking!!!
  • I lost my mind a long long time ago! Before I saw those questions.
  • Probably, but they rarely get the first thing that comes to my mind. If I always give them the absolutely first thing I'd spend time in the AB penalty box or lose my AB privilages completely.
  • not those type of questions. relationship questions... definitely.
  • Absolutely, since none of them even remotely serve any purpose. :o) I'm always tempted to say, "What's the first thing that comes to mind? That this questioner should ask better questions."
  • OK, So, What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I ask you What's the first thing that comes to your mind?
  • Wait, I already lost my mind - can it happen twice?
  • (I would reply to this question but I can only communicate in squeeks and bleeps now, I am living proof this question is a harsh reality)
  • The beauty of staying on your feedback page becomes so evident sometimes. LOL
  • Yes it is possible; however a few interesting ones now and then keeps the old mind on it's toes!
  • No, but it's possible your mind will lose you ;)
  • As long as you take these protective measures, you'll be fine: As soon as you see the words "What's the first thing that comes to mind..." immediately avert your eyes and go to your happy place for a minimum of 45 seconds- longer if necessary. If you still feel that your mind is in danger, quickly eat a piece of chocolate and listen to your favorite song. That should take care of it.
  • Maybe if you have some childhood phobia of them, or if your mind is already nearly gone, and you only need the slightest push to send you over the edge. I pray that most of us have a stronger grasp on our own sanity to avoid that fate.
  • Ha! Yes, it is quite unfortunate. The side effects of seeing too many of these questions can be very detrimental. I must say, I really dont see anything wrong with them in general, but, when we are swarmed with them, over and over again, it becomes a bit tough to think at all, let alone decipher my own thought patterns. Great question GT! You rock!
  • My question is...*Whose going to pay for my therapy*.
  • As far as some members' questions are concerned, my mind is as good as gone on a very long vacation. It's MIND blowing and not in a good way:-(
  • I lost my mind the day I first logged onto AB..ever since then It has been a downward spiral..That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this question..AHHHHH:):):)++6:)
  • Only if you didn't have one in the first place.
  • Was that the first thing that came to your mind on reading the questions :D lol
  • Whatever brain cells I had left have committed suicide because of the total lack of stimulation and variation of question subjects of late. I spend at least three quarters of my AB time in a torpor. The rest of the time I am on comment threads.
  • I only asked one because I was being a silly boy. It shows laziness and it borders on inaneness because this is one of the categories that needs to have the plug pulled on it. I have always stressed that this was a counterproductive category and only leads towards abuse. Like I successfully argued last Summer, This & That got scrapped but sadly this unwieldy beast got resurrected like the evil Phoenix that it is earlier on this year. It just leads me to believe that management here isn't of the highest quality. It is a sad observation but a true one.
  • It's probably more likely that having lost one's mind is the reason he/she is writing so many of those questions. But I usually don't mind them...this is probably the ONLY place I get to throw out the first thing that comes to mine without having to stop and think first!
