Why when something smells bad, You always tell someone "HEY SMELL THIS" knowing that it smells bad?

The answer is simple: Because at times we tend to derive pleasure from bad or rather poignant smells. Poignant smells are stimulating. In this bad smells differ from terrible tastes, sounds or views, because the olfactory sense is probably the most removed of our senses, so that we can enjoy a somewhat alarming stimulation yet remain safe or "untouched" by it...

Maybe, because I am a jerk. My wife tells me all the time so that has to be it.

I'll usually say "is it just me, or can you smell something funny?". I have a very good sense of smell so sometimes other people don't notice, but usually they do.
