Maybe this won't help you, but in my case lying down is essential. Apparently the part of my stomach that hurts just needs to have the acid drained away. Every time I get one I pray the Jewish prayer, thanking God that I am not a slave, because if I were I'd have to work despite it and would get a perforated ulcer and die.

Hard to answer without additional information. If its just gas, bicorbonate of soda is the best. it works extremely fast and gives that BURP of relief.
