On what basis can anyone hope to have more than this present brief human existence?

What's the matter with present existence? You know you have this one. Make the most of it. There is a saying among Egyptian, Chinese, even Jewish religions, "You live as long as people remember you." Meaning do something in your life worthy of something. If I can't do something to improve the world, I should never have existed. If I turn out being wrong about there being no god. I will try to rest on having done something in my life even if I didn't believe. I think it would be pathetic to believe and accomplish nothing. I gave you +3. A good question. My response not likely what you wanted. But I think good. It's not about agreeing, but getting other to thinking on a knowledgable plane. I hope to inspire you to take a look at history and other philosophies on something besides Watch Tower view. Yeah, my asking if you had a 3rd grade diploma was mean spirited. But actually a good intent to anger you into learning something.

I don't know of any reason to believe there is more, and I'm not sure why anyone would want more. This is all we have, do the best you can with it, and accept the end when it comes.
