I am going to court for shoplifting and the value is 260.00 in ny.This is the first time i never has been in trouble with the law and i am 25 so what kind of punishment will he probaly get if i am convicted?

You will be forced to pay the full price of the thing you stole in addition to any fines that the store's policy states, which could very from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

But since this is your first offense, you will most likely get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.

I recommend that you don't do it again.
