A minor error doesn't bother me, but when there are inexcusible mistakes or it becomes difficult to read, I get annoyed. A spell check would be an excellent idea.

Nope, not at all. We are just humans, and we make mistakes from time to time. Besides, we can always choose not to read questions and answers with so many misspelled words. No one is forcing us to read them. A spell check would be nice, of course. But seriously, I believe the recurring glitches (like comments failing to post) should be addressed first before we add any new features here on AB.

Yes, misspellings are a bother. So is the oblivious lack of skill in using punctuation and forming coherent syntax. However, no, Answerbag should not include a spell check function on the site. Adding a spell check function would allow the incompetent to hide behind postings that had been cleaned up and made presentable beyond their semi-literate level. It would better suit the overall community to allow their postings to remain indecipherable gibberish or texting hieroglyphics because that is a signal to everyone else that it is almost always not worth the time to bother reading what they posted. The poor spelling is an alarm bell telling everybody else to skip to the next posting.

I find some questions are ridiculously badly worded and/or spelled, and I dismiss them as not worth answering. Which is, I know, a bad thing, but that's just what I do.

My browser does spell checks on everything that I post in here. I'm using Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 for the Mac computers. If a misspelled word is highlighted, I do searches for the correct spelling of that word using an browser that I always have open to the google.com home page.

An occasional mis-spelling does not bother me. I, like everyone else, have had mis-spellings and typos. However, the constant mis-spellings and poor grammar, and the "text speak" does bother me.
