I suppose the answer in my opinion would be no. I don’t hate the show, but I think it’s missing. A certain spark. The real problem is that Mr. Griffin passed away about a week and a half prior to the shows premiere. This is only my opinion by I strongly believe that he would have made small tweaks to make the game more balanced; for instance on the first season of the 1984 version of “Jeopardy!” contestant’s could ring in at any time, even before Alex Trebeck finished reading the question. By implementing a specific time when the player could ring in coupled with the fact that the player would be penalized if they rung in too early created an element of strategy. I wouldn’t be too surprised if executives would be skidish about tinkering with the show, out of guilt of not wanting to “taint” Merv Griffin’s creation. Here’s what I think would improve the show: -It should be harder for a contestent to snipe, perhaps two correct answers to successfully take over. Also the hard earned work should not be completely forgotten… idk maybe the whole show should be divided in teams rather than many contestants. -Have a life line that would forgive spelling if it was off by no more than two letters in one circumstance per contestant. -The whole show is slightly too cold and “removed”; to help rectify this either hire Donny Osmund or ask the current host to be a little less cold… he used to host a soap talk show where he came off as much nicer.
