I guess they think some people might find it entertaining. I find it boring.

You mean A Haunting? They are reenactments of true events that happened to people. Not everyone in this world is a non-believer.
-
I believe so. If it's real, why can't you ever see the ghost?
-
seeing what i have seen they might be real!

I actually enjoy some of those shows and I do believe in ghosts. But I can see what you're getting at. I'm sure some of it is over-excaggerated out of proportion for entertainment sake. It's alright for shows that actually have a presenter visiting the historical sites which are believed to be haunted, but when it's entirely dramatised with just a few interviews, it doesn't really belong on a factual channel like Discovery. For instance, I recently watched a program on there about the moon landing, and it had experts arguing for and against the footage being real. I think it's great that Discovery have paranormal shows, but as an educational channel, the programs shouldn't be one-sided.

There are things that are hard to believe, and they are not necesarily bogus.
-
They do it for the entertainment and the ratings.
-
Some people believe it and like to hear about it, even if the dramatizations are laughable.
-
I know! I hate MonsterQuest on the History channel and UFO Hunters. They seem like cop outs and time fillers.

Like your question, the answer is two fold. One, nobody including yourself can tell us if ghosts exist. Two, they are first and foremost an entertainment network making money. Viewers are their lifeblood. If you can prove a reported ghost story is fake, then it still doesn't make them all fake. Until someone has proof one way or the other, ghosts are an unknown, and science is about discovery of the unknown.

Toon Skull...ghosts do not exist... (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun. DEMONS DO! (Matthew 8:29) And, look! they screamed, saying: “What have we to do with you, Son of God? Did you come here to torment us before the appointed time?”
