  • Besides the fact that it's unlikely the amp puts out 1200 watts except in an extreme burst before it dies, we are going to need to know a few things. What are the specs on the subs? What type of amp? (So we can figure out what it will really do) For a 1200W amp at 14.4V (assuming it cranks constantly at 1200W - which is also crazy) you are going to need 83Amps from your alternator! You might HAVE an 83A alternator, but it's unlikely you have 83A free unless you have a massively built specially wound unit. Long story short, 1200W means nothing, we need the specifics.
  • Look for the RMS watt ratting. If your 10" has a 300 RMS you will want to times that by 1.5 that will give you the your base number, take that times 3 then look for a multi-Channel amp that has a RMS watt is within 50 RMS watts, this will give you the power you need.
