Response from Toni Schneider, CEO of Automatic:
Kismet is our anti-spam service and it keeps spam off of blogs, wikis and social networks. We’ve seen a doubling of spam on our blogs in three weeks. It’s crazy. So the solution is a centralized service that sees all the spam across hundreds of thousands of blogs, so it’s very good at catching things, if it gets through, somebody marks it, and this is collective intelligence where you have hundreds of thousands of bloggers working together to keep the spam away, and that’s not content, it’s intelligence.
