  • Forgive me if I am wrong,but I believe I read somewhere that a "Letter of Protection" is contigient on the outcome of the lawsuit. Usually a Doctor doesn't ask for one unless the lawsuit has been already filed, and it's a sure bet that the lawsuit is going to be settled amicably.
  • I always think of Letter of Protections as agreements that are from the attorney to the Dr's to promise them payment, that you the client will not be held liable for the bills ? I thought? I am not an attorney.. I think you need to talk with your attorney re: LOP usually personal injury suits are contingency cases where you don't pay unless you win and that the LOP was what the Atty provided until your case settled. Call your lawyer
