    Perhaps once the price drops and it becomes more difficult to get DVD stuff, and I might just go with the PS3, so then I can upgrade that at the same time (I've got PS2). But not for some time yet.

    If I did I would either get a PS3 or drive for the computer, as Takei answered. Seems silly to get a standalone player (unless it's the PS3).

    I will eventually upgrade my computer's DVD R/W device, but I will not buy a machine that only plays the discs to a TV ...
