In NY you can earn 80K easily! And if you're a superintendent you can retire with a million dollar retirement account courtesy of the school board! Not bad for only having to work 180 days a year! That's how many days NY teachers are required to work! None of them give dam what the taxpayers have to pay to make it all possible!

That would depend on where you are and whether it is a union or non-union state. My first year, (10 years ago) I took home $800 a month, after taxes.

My mom is a fourth grade teacher and she makes about seventy grand a year.
