I have a 10 year old male cat with the same problem. He has stones in his bladder and crystals. He has been on Hills x/d diet for 8 years and my other two cats, both female have eaten it with no problems...although one got really fat on it. They use to be grazers too, so I have started feeding them first thing in the morning, I feed one in each of our three bathrooms and the little fat one has lost a lot of weight. And they don't seem to mind the change at all..so if you are really concerned you should try feeding them in seperate rooms where they can't get to each other's food! I think my cats are doing much better since I started feeding them seperatly...their weight is at a much better level than when they were grazers!! Good Luck!
