  • I skate. Best tricks are hard to say. The best trick someone CAN do would be a lot different from the best trick they HAVE done. The word "can" means someone could just bust one out any old time or place, maybe even second or third try. Even with that being said, I feel like some of the tricks I can do came somewhat easier to me, compared to other people. Frontside half-cab kickflips (a.k.a. fakie frontside flips,) are tough for a lot of people to learn, but I've had them dialed for a long time. Fakie bigspin kickflips are in the same category as that, though mine are usually kinda sloppy. If there's a rail or a ledge, that's a different situation also. Backside tailslides on ledges are technically very difficult, I worked really, really hard learning them. It's not only one of my very favorite tricks, but one I'm most proud of. Fakie 5-0's are the same way. This trick I snap a lot of decks on (popping out, landing switch on the front of the board). On a quarter-pipe, I like a lot of different revert tricks. They're fun! Feeble frontside reverts are wild. Blunt to fakies never get old. They feel good and are somewhat tough to get the hang of, as they take some nerve to ride away from. If I had to pin the title, "best trick" on one trick I've done in my life, it would be REALLY hard. Different tricks I've stuck mean different things to me, they are each different levels of accomplishments. Milestones in my life, really. I frontside boardslid a handrail in Omaha, NE that was 10 stairs. We got it on film, I was probably 17 then. It must've taken 40 tries! The impact from all the speed made it hard to ride it out! I also 50-50'd it, which only took about 3 or 4. It meant a lot to me at the time. There's an impossible gap my friend Ryan and I spent half a day trying to ollie. It's a stair, then about 4 feet, then 5 or 6 stairs, then a sidewalk slab after that! It doesn't look do-able. There wasn't much height to it, but it was SOOO long! To this day when people see the video, they can't believe it because they've been to that spot. It's impossible! We both ollied it though, and I don't think it will ever happen again. Not for a long time at least...
