  • Go to your big box discount store (or local auto parts store) and look in the car care section. Purchase a spray bottle of Lexol Leather Conditioner. Give the glove a good spraying and wipe off the excess. Lexol is not oily and will not make the glove heavy or damage the leather. Then play catch with the glove to break it in. You can repeat the process as often as you need. Lexol also come in wipes and I keep a container of wipes in my truck. After every game, I wipe down the leather pads on my face mask and they are as good as new. My son plays college ball and he also uses Lexol on this glove after every game. Stay away from oily products such as Neets Foot Oil. Do not use shaving cream because most contain some form of alcohol and will damage the leather. Do not use one of the products that tells you to put the glove in an oven. Heat damages leather. And never, ever soak a glove in water. It may initially make the glove easier to break in, but in the long run the water damages the leather.
