  • With so much bad stuff happening all over the world (e.g. natural disasters, wars - often people fighting about their different interpretations about religion and God), it's hard to believe in the God of the Christian religion - you know, the one who is meant to be kind and forgiving. And the standard answer of "God works in mysterious ways" seems like a massive cop-out to me.
  • well, I can only assume you are talking about religious faith. As an atheist, I can tell you why I no longer believe in god. one word-science. god just doesn't make sense. you can pray all you want, but that terminal cancer isn't just going to disappear because you put your hands together and think. I heard a saying from stumbleupon. it goes: "CHRISTIANITY: The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie Can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense." (Not to say that this is what made me lose faith, but it does make a good point.)
