I think they can sometimes. I've not been in a proper relationship for a long time now and it does seem to be one night stands I have and although they can sometimes be enjoyable I think sex with someone you care for and love is ultimately better.

In my humble experience no. Sex with someone you love and respect is better. I had a lot of one night stands when i was single and though some were enjoyable some were awkward fumblings.
