Practices and behavior can be evil. American culture is not. And as for the individual person, the range from good to evil is as diverse as anywhere else in the world.

I wouldn't say America is evil, people can be evil.. life is about balance. Western lifestyle is perceived as evil by Eastern cultures because of it's heavy emphasis on materialistic values and the sharp decline in spiritual values. Also the rampant proliferation of such things as alcohol and pornography that come with a weakening of spiritual awareness.

Yes, but there are also a LOT of selfish people here too. And the ones you hear the most about tend to be self-centered, out-of-touch, uncaring about others, bigoted, or have other 'evil' traits. The nice, caring people don't have the publicity that the dark side of America does.
