  • I consider it an act of war
  • As in against the terms of use or just against AB etiquette? It can be both, it can be against the terms of use if it is excessive (as in trolling) and is in a pattern. But it's certainly against the etiquette of the community :)
  • What does it mean? im new sorry.
  • YES! I wouldn't answer it any other way! Ya hear that newbies? Yes, it is highly illegal!!!
  • They should be. We are given the right to DR because the staff trusts us with keeping this a fair place. And an organized, trustworthy one. I am not sure if they are, illegal. I wouldn't know. I hope this is helpful. I tried looking for the "rules" and they kept pointing me towards the Terms Of Use...
  • I had someone do that to me and actually admitted it in one of her comments and has been gone for over a month. I believe she got thrown into the Penalty box or kicked off all together. But that is just what I think. I don't know for sure.
  • I think so. If you feel you have been a victim of retaliatory downrates, complain via feedback.
  • Well, it could get you put in the Penalty Box, as well as just being really bad form.
  • Aren't all downrates retaliatory to some extent?
  • One downrate? No, but if someone has a pattern of making them either to one or two people often or consecutively or to many people, yes, it will land you in the penalty box. The staff can see who you downrate and how often you do it.
  • It is against TOU and also against all ethical use of the site. It is also not a certainly that the person you think has done the Down Rate is actually the perpetrator . Only the staff can tell who is trolling an account.
  • I would hope so. Plus, how do you know who downrated you anyway? I'm still new and don't see where it tells you who gave you points either way.
