In the UK, why do we have car performance quoted in MPG and petrol sold in litres? When was the last time you worked out how much it costs to drive say 10 miles?

    I think because most Brits still think in gallons, but petrol stations have to use litres due to some kind of EU directive.

    Given the choice, people use gallons, but petrol stations aren't given the choice!!
