Greg Palast.. His writing style and added comedy, plus the issues and subjects he usually reports on are controversial yet informative and important. Also, I've only read one of her books, but Amy Goodman seems really good too. Her book "Static: Government Liars, Media Cheerleaders, and the People who Fight Back" was very informative and an excellent work of investigative journalism.
