Because we've got the American Jesus.

I don't believe that he blesses anywhere in particualar... It's just that America as a whole is so fervently Christian that they assume they are blessed, and they want to be blessed, and the government likes to think they can get away with anything because "God is on their side"... Sadly it seems to be working for them so far... *waits for the DRs* - i can see them coming :)

I don't believe that the constitution allows for ignorance, though even if it does, that is not the best option. Getting on topic, He blesses America for the Bride of Christ still lives in part in america, though once rapture takes place, grace will dissipate, for with the exile of the Bride and the Holy Spirit within her, mankind will be left to fester and be led by the son of perdition, the Anti Christ.

Because we have his toilet within our borders. He put it there by mistake, so now it's ours, and if God's poop doesn't make America blessed, I don't know what does.

The ideals of the constitution was designed to be carried out in tandem with God. Even in the preamble, it says "....and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity....". Liberty is not only an inalienable right, but a blessing as well. Our forefathers, however human and imperfect, were indeed very religious men. They made damn sure that God was in everything while building the foundation of America. It's even our money! I can't think of a single one of them that didn't have flaws, but the point is that they TRIED to get our country off to a great start, and they succeeded. After a mere 200 years we became the world power. That just doesn't happen without God in there somewhere. Had we been evil, we would have long ago gone the way of other evil powers.

He blesses America because we are free to worship or ignore Him. We have the freedom of religion and the freedom of speech! In many other countries, there is very little choice as to whether you worship freely or not... The bottom line is: The blessing in question is that we have the freedom!

No fear, I don't think that will last much longer...

Did God bless America, or is this a faustian deal? ;-) . . Our rights didn't come from the constitution. We are born with them. The Declaration of Independence says as much. They only thing others can is respect our rights, as we respect theirs.
