You'd probably injure yourself worse by doing that. Modern elevators have speed governors, brakes that activate when tension on the cable goes slack, and pistons at the bottom of the shaft. So if you're in mid-jump when the car when the car stops, you'll end up slamming into the floor instead of slowing down with the car by the brakes or the pistons.
