Physically, Scully ; ) In the series, both were indispensible in my opinion. The season that Mulder was missing was not as interesting to me. The rapport between them and the constrast in characters is a big part of what made the X-Files interesting.

Agreed, i too hated moulders absense and i was pleased he eventually returned

Scully. Mulder just wanted to believe way too much.

My preference is Mulder of course.He is such an dynamic personality within the character and even outside his character.
