Why do so many children start out loving chocolate ice cream but, when they are adults they prefer vanilla?

I must be strange then. I've never liked chocolate ice-cream. I love chocolate mind you. My fav ice-cream is a toss up between Apricot and Boysenberry, always has been :)

Not I, even when there's vanilla ice cream in the fridge I put chocolate sauce on it.

Huh? Really? Not me, it was chocolate when I was a kid and it's STILL chocolate now that I am quite full grown. lol

I think it takes a more refined, educated palate to appreciate the nuances found in good vanilla ice cream. Kids love stronger flavors..maybe because their tastebuds are still forming. I used to love sweets when I was a kid and as a adult I can take 'em or leave 'em! :) When I was a kid I loved strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream and all the sherbet flavors..now I often prefer a dish of really good vanilla bean ice cream! I guess that makes me a grownup! :) Happy Friday! :)
