See your maint manual. My car calls for 5K miles, using a synthetic blend. I have been using pure Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my cars and run it to 6000 miles, even though Mobil say it can go much longer between changes. I have been doing this a long time with no problems, and I think I have improved my fuel economy too, but this is hard to say since tires, etc. have been changed too. Anyway, I'm convinced and I even started using it in my tractor:-)

I change it when it tells me to change it. I trust the engineers.
