  • Congratulations! You must be very excited. I suppose the first thing to do would be set a date with your church or wedding venue then you can move forward from there. I would also recommend buying a wedding planning book so you can stay organized. I would also buy some bridal magazines so you can get ideas.
  • Congrats. Bo to a book store and buy a wedding planner. I bought one for my friend when she got engaged and she said it gave her an idea of where to start and everything. Also, you might want to consider a wedding planner.
  • Congratulations Fruity!!!! I was in the same exact position as you about 2 months ago! My BF proposed and just like that we were engaged and I never did any research on weddings or anything so I had absolutely NO idea what I was doing!! I would recommend the binder wedding planner at Target. Someone bought it for me and it is my BEST friend!! It is helping me keep everything in order! Very first thing is to find a BUDGET! See how much you and your soon-to-be hubby want and CAN spend on this party. But after that just start with the cornerstones.... 1st pick a venue/wedding hall (this way you have your place and DATE locked in before booking any other services). Pick out your wedding party and ask them to be in your wedding, also plan your wedding colors/theme. Then choose your officiant/church (some venues let you have the service there), DJ, photographer, printer for invitations, cake bakery (some venues include the cake with the catering services, mine is!), pick out your wedding dress, pick out the bridesmaids/flower girl dresses, find a florist (for centerpieces and look at sample bouquets to go with your color scheme.) There is a lot to do but start with the budget and the venue and everything will fall into place. That is how I got through the initial stages and now I'm a pro!! Good luck & Congrats again!! :)
  • Check out those magazines and talk with your fiance about what they would like. Figure out how much time you will need to plan it all, when you'd like to go on a honeymoon best or when you have time off coming and set the date.
