I have chronic hip and knee pain. I take lyrica, and Methadone... I used to take ultram, but it quit working after several years of use, hense the uppage to a narcotic now. Lyrica is like Neurontin, only stronger, and is approved for the treatment of Fibromyalgia, and works to some extent for that.

A bike ride. I leave the "pain at home". Sorry it just slipped out. Really though exercise seems to work for me; I seldom take pills.

I think I have tried just about every over the counter pain med that there is in all my years of pain! When I was 48 years old I had such back pains that my leg and foot were going numb, so I went to my brand new family doctor...he took X-rays and told me I have a serious Degenerative Disc Disease, 5 herniated Discs and of all things Scoliosis, which I thought was supposed to be diagnosed in childhood...well this guy was an idiot...he sent me directly to physical thearpy and then it made me worse...I am now on pain meds and use a cane thanks to him and then he had the nerve to tell me my pain was all in my head, with my X-rays right in front of him....I now have a different doctor. I also have an auto immume conditon in my thyroid that keeps a lot of meidcations from doing me any good so I have to stick with what ever works. I use to take Ibuprophen ( or however you spell it) but it raised my liver enzimes...like in hepititus, so I can't even take them! Being in pain is a real pain!! LOL If I couldn't laugh at myself some times I guess I would go totally nuts!!

Depends what kind of pain. Some I use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) on and others I may take some herbs or get a massage or use some shiatsu points.

I have chronic pain and take neurontin. It is actually a seizure medication. It has no side effects for me and works great. Prevents my pain from even starting. For relief of pain like a headache or something other than the chronic, I take ibuprofen.
