  • wow you certainly love america dont you... I dont suppose you are fighting in Iraq are you?
  • Who is angry? We just don't agree with you. Even friends don't have to agree all the time. We think that several of the things you are doing are wrong, even if done for the best of possible reasons. If you see a friend doing the wrong thing, you tell them, and you don't help them. You don't have to be angry to do that - though the friend might not like being told they are wrong.
  • I myself am not angry with the US, but I think I can answer your question. I think the second part of your question answers the question for you- 'saving Europe TWICE or defeating the Soviet Union'. I believe it is this sanctimonious attitude that makes people angry, not US foreign policy or anything else. Are you suggesting that the US saved little old Britain? Because they didn't. The US got involved in the world wars in Europe to protect their own interests, not to save mine, so you can spare me the self righteousness. EDIT- Thanks for the feedback kitty. I totally agree with you that without US intervention in the 2 world wars, The whole of Western Europe would have been a single state called Greater Germania or something similair. But let's forget about that and get back to the question you asked. I always like to answer the question without being pulled away on a tangent. I was trying to illustrate (and I could have picked you up wrong), that I am not angry with Americans. I have met a few on my travels, maybe a dozen, and although that's not a lot, I found them all to be intelligent, open minded, and willing to discuss this very question. What does anger me is the seeming self righteousness of a proportion of Americans, which I believe the second part of your question amply shows- 'Was it saving Europe TWICE or defeating the Soviet Union in the Cold War? ' I reiterate that I could be wrong, I'm not judging you personally, but It seems to suggest that you're saying 'The US helped the UK, you've no right to disagree with anything we do'. Which is obviously crap. It is that attitude that angers people, not the Bush administration's foreign policy. I should now point out that I have never personally met an American who is like this, my experience tells me Americans do not generally feel that way.
