Try using the yoga blocks and the straps. Hope that helps!

modify them so that they work for you, don't try to make your body work for the poses .... yoga is there to serve you, not the other way around

I have that same problem! At first, I thought I was doing poses incorrectly until I realized that its because my torso is too long for my arms - lol. Blocks are helpful most of the times.

This may seem like a silly question. But does it have to be yoga? Aren't you afraid of doing yourself an injury? Have you tried Tai Chi?
