  • Nope. Women dress in men's clothes for other reasons. Simply comfortable for doing things. They also will dress as men to pass as men for the economic advantage in employment. In the 1880's a stage driver died. To the shock of the town the deceased was discovered to have a vagina and a glued on mustache made from horse hair. She had passed as a man for over 20 years. Chewed tobacco and spat too. vSimply she didn't want to be a farm wife, worked to death and giving birth yearly.
  • They wouldn't be called a cross dresser even though they should be. I never heard of a female cross dresser because them wearing pants is common. So the only people who get called transvestites are men.
  • Annie Hall has been called a cross dresser before, from what I have heard. Granted, that was a different time. Nowadays, I can't tell whether I am in the men's or women's sections of most stores. American Eagle, Old Navy... and onward.... a lot of retail fashion has become extremely unisex. I don't think it's fair to say that a woman is cross dressing when many of the most popular clothing lines seem to embrace somewhat androgynous trends.
  • No, women dress like guys all the time. I miss the days when you had to wear a skirt to work. I'm a leg guy. But if you think about it, isn't wearing a skirt or dress much easier and cooler than putting on pants and a shirt and tie?
  • No, Men have worn skirts, dresses, gowns and wigs for ages. Pants for women emerged from the burgeoning nineteenth century feminist movement, which demanded a change from Victorian dresses to a more practical costume that would permit women to engage in activities beyond those traditionally assigned to the female domestic sphere. Ironically, however, women's pants would achieve widespread social acceptance only when the fashion industry convinced women that pants were a necessary part of a well-dressed woman's wardrobe.
  • Men dressing in women's clothes shouldn't be called cross dressers either. Clothes are clothes.
  • I vote no on both propositions, lol
  • There are women crossdressers. They dress in all mens clothing. Just because a women wears pants, it doesn't mean she's a crossdreser.
  • I don't think so. But I have seen a picture of Marlene Dietrich in a Tux, I think that is cross dressing.
  • Women are more fearless when it comes to adornment. I'll wear anything I want to and I'm not a cross dresser. Gay women have really made a mark in the cross dressing field these days and men are starting to go beyond metro-sex fashion all the way to wearing skirts. Cross dressing deals with one sex deliberately trying to look like the opposite sex, not just wearing something unique for fashion like Annie Hall. She wasn't even remotely gay in the movie.
  • You are a crossdresser if you wear the clothing of an opposite gender. 100 years ago, it was considered to be wrong if a female wore pants. I believe today that pants is a male clothing. Females just adopted it and it is considered unisex clothing. We can not change rules so easily, but we did on that. I am not against crossdressing because I am one.
