  • No. its never too late for an education. and, its also never too late for medical schools to take your money.
  • Absolutely not! Go ahead and take the schooling. I know of several people who waited until their mid ages to start med school. They graduated, and all four of them are great doctors! So, press on forward with your education. Besides, should you decide that doctoring is not right for you, you will still have the education to fall back on for your friends and family members. Go for it! :)
  • It's never too late for almost anything. Go for It!
  • My administrative assistant's husband abandoned a promising career as an auto mechanic at age 35 to go to medical school. He graduated about four years ago at age 42, and is now a GP in a small, three-doctor clinic. She says he has no regrets. She DOES complain about the student loans, and I can't say I blame her. A couple years ago when I assisted them with a mortgage refinancing, I found out that their student loan payments are higher than their mortgage.
  • no go for it. I started school at the age of 50 and i will continue in school until the day i did.
  • Medical school is a HUGE commitment. My hubby is a doctor. You must remember, even after school, there are the yearly certification tests you have to take - which also cost money If you are thinking about this at 35 you probably are single w/o kids If not, good luck...because med school takes precedence over everything in your life
  • No. Go for it. You will probably be more successful then your younger peers. Best of luck.
  • Definitely not. Most medical schools are starting to take an active role in recruiting mature students, they appreciate the life experience they've had, and the qualifies they can bring to the role of a medic that younger people can't. You don't specify which country you're from, so it's difficult to help you in the specifics, but in England there are quite a few 1 year access courses for medicine. For example there is one in Bradford. Successful completion allows you to go onto the Medical degree at Leeds University. At 35, you still have a long way ahead of you. You should definitely go for what you want, as otherwise you'll wake up every day for the rest of your life wondering what could have been. there's nothing worse than living with regrets and 'what if's?'
  • If you go for it, make sure you don't do it JUST for the money or 'prestige', because these days the real kings of the health care industry are the insurance companies. Medical practice involves a LOT of sacrifice and time and effort! There's a LOT of politics involved. If your heart is not so soft and think you can watch countless people in some of the most debilitating conditions get turned down due to insufficient health coverage, then go for it! There's a lot that goes down in the medical world that the media (ER, etc) won't show. You'll see things you've never seen before, many of which will likely break your heart. If you're the kind of person who wants to make a change in the world then you should go into medicine. The field is in dire need of people who care about health care as opposed to those who care about pocket-care. Don't worry too much about how old you are, but more about what you'd have to deal with in medicine. Best of wishes.
  • Nope. It's never to late to do anything you are still physically able to do.
  • No its never to late to better your self. If its what you want to do then go for it, and Good luck.
  • I think go for it!!am at 30 of age and thinking of going back to medical school..I have all my life ahead of me!!
  • No. But I have heard in some places 35 is the upper limit for being accepted by universities to do a med. degree, so I wouldn't leave it any longer.
