  • No. The steamer applies steam to "loosen" wrinkles. It won't be as good on really tough or well-set wrinkles as smoothing using a hot surface, which is what ironing does. However, you are not very likely to scorch any fabrics and leave marks with steam.
  • NO as you aren't 'pressing clothes' when you use a steamer. You are simply making the wrinkles relax. However for some things that's a good idea if you want to keep fullness. But if you need something flat or crisp, you need to press.
