Why does it seem like attractive, good looking people always have good hygiene whereas not so good looking people usually have poor hygiene?

For the same reason that my 1980 camperized van gets washed less often than my son's 25 year newer car. The quest for a silk purse is less likely if you are starting with a sow's ear. So why bother.
