Scientifically, why are black people more likely to have larger nostrils? Please note I am not being racist, it is just an observation I have made and I am wondering if there is an explanation.

I think it's just genetic makeup. I think they also have a stonger curve in their femur, or a longer one? Just how forensics can tell the age, race, and gender of a skeleton.

One theory is that people who originated closer to the equator have nostrils that are short and shallow because that is the norm. People who moved away from the equator and went north eventually developed long nostrils that would allow more time for air to be warmed up on the way to the lungs.

It has to do with where they came from. The equator is the hottest place on earth. Broad noses help breathe in larger quantities of very hot air during extreme physical activity, such as running and hunting. The are often better athletes than any other race because they are highly coordinated, able to jump very high and run very fast. They have sinewy bodies and muscles that help them accomplish these things. Over time, there have been new introductions into the gene pool that have created more exceptions to all of the things I just used for examples of differences.
