  • No -magnetic field flows, so the sphere would have a north and south pole like conventional magnets - and the earth!!
  • Some of the theories that are trying to unify the four fundamental forces of nature predict the existence of things called magnetic monopoles. (These would be magnets that have a single pole, either north or south, but not both.) However, as far as I know, no such things have actually been found as of yet.
  • Yes, it's theoretically possible to make large magnets like this. Imagine thousands of bar magnets made wider at one end. Glue them all together and polish it smooth and you end with a sphere. The magnetic force in the middle of the sphere drops to zero. It would probably be much harder to do this with nanotechnology but not impossible. Some theories of the universe allow for magnetic monopoles, which would be point sources of magnetism, north or south poles. But allow a north monopole and a south monopole to come together and boom, they disappear in a flash of radiation!
