Has there ever been a catcher lead his team in homeruns in a single season?

    In 1970 Johnny Bench of the Reds hit 47 homers, to lead not only his team but MLB for that year. In 1997 (Dodgers) and 1999 (Mets), Mike Piazza led his teams in homers, with 40 in each of those years, and he led the Mets with 38 in 2000.
