In dead things mostly. That includes left over veggies, meat, animals, leaves, grass clippings, diapers etc. The maggots can be real small and become a big fat bumbling metallic fly. Maggots is every where there is sumpin to eat, specially if it don't fight back. Intersestingly enuff the really pretty metalic flies, blue bottle, green bottle and such, is the ones that have maggots that like to live in rotting meat. Even, perhaps especially, rotting meat that is in the wounds of still living creatures. Flies is interstin' but gross. There is maggots that live in snot. EEEEW! Tears, even more EWWW. But there is plenty of dead stuff for them every where. We don't see them cause we just don't go looking for them or for or into and under dead stuff. But then there was the the 'work study' program I was involved with to pay my tuition away back when I was workin on my biology degree. Talk about you'r ewwwww. Dead stuff and maggots is every where! And none of it is pretty, 'cept the green bottle fly.
