I would recycle more if they picked it up for free. I would actually like for them to charge per bag. It would have to be cheaper than paying the monthly fee for my one little bag per week I put out.

Our area just pushed the recycling thing big time..All recyclables in a bin, all paper and cardboard seperate..Your garbage can can not weigh more than %0 lbs, or they will not take it. It's a lot of work, but worth it.

I don't think it's possible for me to recycle more than I already do. I compost as well.

My town has curbside recycling of cans and bottles. There are dropoff centers for newspapers and cardboard. Even with that being free, it is estimated that only 20% of the town will recycle. I personally don't think recycling is that hard. I separate everything before i throw anything in the waste can. I get a waste can of paper to burn once in 3 months, everything else is recycled.

If my area picked up ANYTHING, I'd be amazed. They don't even like to plow out here. If they started to charge, I'd bill them for my gas to get there. When we take our stuff to the dump, we have a bin for corrugated, a bin for co-mingled (plastic, metal, and glass; it gets separated elsewhere), and a compactor for regular trash. If they started to charge, I'd bill them for my gas to get there.
