  • Set up some cones about 20 feet apart or something similar that is big enough for you to see but won't damage your vehicle and that you won't be overly concerned about damaging. Best to do this on a quiet street or similar area.
  • Young drivers freak out with parallel parking. To practice set two poles up about 20 feet apart and 8 feet from the curb. Now in your car pull along side the front pole about 2 feet away. Pull up with your rear bumper about even with the pole. Start backing and turning in to the area between the poles. When the dash board of your car is even with the front pole start turning your steering wheel to the left. You may need to slightly adjust your backing turn as you back keep making the turn shallower as you get in place. Pull slightly forward between the poles. With just a little practice using this method you will soon learn how to negotiate the parking. I watched a young boy trying to parallel park. He just couldn't get it. I told him how to park using my method. On his first try he almost had it. by the third try he was doing it perfect. He had failed his driving test because he couldn't parallel park. I am sure he passed his next time around.
